FORMULA JUNIOR FACT BOOKS

.

The Formula Junior Fact Book series, produced by the Formula 1 Register covers races in a purely factual manner, there being no narrative. The race details include a full entry list, or as complete a one as is available. This includes the race numbers, where known, and all known non-starters. There follows the starting grid and full results including retirements.

The book includes Formula Junior races held in the USA. Although the information is frequently incomplete there is sufficient detail to give a good picture. Much information is also included on the many races in Eastern Europe.

The first volume covers the period 1958-1961 and has some 318 pages while the second covers 1962-1964 and has 288 pages. The indexes are at the conclusion of the second volume.

The size of the books gives some idea of the wealth of material included in these books. Some of the races have never been reported in any publication before.

The books include Formula Junior races which were run as classes within other races e.g. for Formule Libre as often happened in the north of England.

As usual the books have the familiar dark blue covers with silver lettering. The books are comb bound so that they lie flat when opened.

The publication of the Formula Junior books completes the factual history of Formula 3 racing from its inception in 1947 up to 1988. No further books on this Formula are planned until the Formula 1 Register starts publication of the full history of Formula 3 racing at a later date.

Every volume contains statistics and facts that have never been published anywhere before, even at the time the race was held. For some of the more obscure British 500cc Formula 3 races, these Fact Books represent the very first time that some entry lists have been printed in numerical order!

Statisticians will find all these books a dream come true. As Historic Racing becomes more popular so the documentation of the old events is being provided, in many cases, for the very first time.

However due to high demand, these Formula Junior Fact Books are currently out of print and are not available, though a new Formula Junior Book is now in preparation.
